Quarter 1 2024 Update

FleetCom Update

FleetCom Update

So, I am skipping the Quarter 4 update and going right back to Quarter 1. The last post was in October and it just makes a little more sense to reset.

We have made it to through the winter holidays and New Year. A few changes have happened over the last few months. Ech0Whiskey has stepped down as Commanding Officer of the Star Citizen Division. Neb has stepped up and has been doing a fantastic job taking up the reigns with the support of FallenHylian and Zahraphim. The other Divisions have been running strong and I will let those Division COs talk about their areas.

The USA is also starting Daylights Savings Time on March 10, 2024 at 2:00am local time. This means for those located outside of the USA, meeting and operations times will be adjusting by one hour.

Like we do at every community meeting, and in each quarterly updated, we would like to thank all those that continue to donate through Patreon or Discord Server Boosting. Our Patreon supporters: Aarius, aramova, Bushman, greg_nog, Oni, Razzun, ReapsD, Sivien21, Straker, TwoGreen, Zahraphim. Your continued support is greatly appreciated and is solely used to offset the costs of the Microsoft Azure servers that host all our communication tools and SCNet website.

Discord Server Boosting gives our Discord server a little extra flair from server banners to a custom join link. Our Discord Server Boosters: Ech0Whiskey, FallenHylian, Jeffon, MantisOlthoi, NeddieSeagoon, nomad, Scrub, Sivien21, ThePeachPanther, Razzun, Zahraphim. Your continued support is greatly appreciated in boosting our server and giving us the many cool features such as the custom join URL and more additional emojis!

Division Updates

Arma Update

Arma

Quarter 4 of 2023 was probably one of VVarSecServices’ weakest periods. With real life on the rise and some key personnel having to step away the division currently has an uncertain future. However, that didn’t stop us from having some epic operations. With some major highlights like our Halloween SCP Maze run, Operation LongRoadHome, and many others we didn’t end the year on a whimper. It’s also at times like these we look over the year as a whole and 2023 saw some of our biggest operations and our most ambitious operations. Our campaign based on the ongoing Ukraine conflict, that saw one of our mission makers make his own drone warfare mod to make it happen, some legendary narrative missions by Yuki & Carl, and our severe server issues from the start of the year get fixed. We don’t know what 2024 will bring for us – but we’re proud of the little community we’ve built and sustained.

PlanetSide 2 Update

PlanetSide 2

The division has been a bit quieter this past quarter, with many folks quite busy outside of the game. Let’s take a quick moment here at the end of the year to look back on what we’ve accomplished in 2023 and to see where we are going in 2024.

We have made a lot of progress on improving our operational structure. Our use of available assets, such as construction, as well as prioritizing better logistics options has been the standout for 2023. Our Ops have had far more available spawn points and back up sunderers compared to years prior and those aspects have made a big impact on the quality of our operations. Another point worth celebrating is our high attendance numbers this year. After accounting for long-term reserve members and recruits who did not finish their requirements for membership, the in-game outfit has surpassed 100 members. More importantly, we had roughly 60 unique members or recruits attend operations in 2023, with most of those folks logging in within the past 6 months. Despite our continued need to grow in size in order to achieve some larger goals, these things are worth celebrating and we appreciate the increasing turnout over the course of the year.
As we look to 2024, we are going to shake off some of the dust that has been forming the last few months, so expect division activity levels to rise again in the New Year. This means more Ops more consistently. We’re going to revive some of our tertiary goals, such as social media and better documentation as well in order to properly account for our presence here within VVarMachine. The past few months have seen a decrease in activity due to life’s needs and a lack of game updates, but with the Sunderer Rework on its way, as well as a number of other potential major game changes, we plan to be ready to tackle what Planetside 2 throws at us next year. We are going to continue working towards increasing recruitment and promoting more NCOs as we have been working on/planning to previously. Lastly, on a smaller note, we plan on running another season of training in the New Year to fill in some knowledge gaps some of our members have had since the last round.

Cheers to 2023, and let’s hope that 2024 can be a brighter year than the last one!

Star Citizen Update

Star Citizen

Greetings everyone!

It has been an eventful quarter for our Star Citizen division. We started with promoting new leadership within the division and adjusting the structure a bit to better facilitate shared responsibilities at the fleet level. Previously the Community leader was wearing both hats, but increased IRL responsibilities facilitated the need to step away from the day to day division duties. From there we made changes to our Star Citizen Addendum to the Code of Conduct to codify those changes, and make adjustments to a number of our processes in order to improve our members ability to find a place in our fleet. We are continuing those efforts into the next quarter with focused projects to refine our certification system. These changes are intended to improve our delivery, content, and training effect.

Citizencon 2953 brought its usual increase in excitement and energy for the project. We had several members attend in person this year, and were able to go hands on with the development build with Pyro! While they were there representing VVarMachine by wearing our gear, they were recognized by members of the Atmo Esports team for our security support of the Daymar Rally the last two years. As usual, the demonstrations of future tech by CIG was awe inspiring but for the first time some of that tech was in the development build played on site. From actually playing in the Pyro system to many subtle changes in the performance of the game, pieces of this tech are getting in our hands in the 3.21 and 3.22 builds.

We have had a lot of division activity in the game since Citizencon hosting around 50 tracked missions and almost daily casual groups forming to tackle objectives in the game. We have benefitted from a number of recent additions of veteran players who have all brought a wealth of knowledge and experience into our fleet while hitting the ground running. A special thanks to the leaders and members making these events fun and bringing a ton of energy driving us forward.

We look to carry all of this momentum into the new year while continuing to grow and develop as an organized fleet. Thank you for your continued support of VVarMachine and the SC Division!

See you in the Verse!
